2月23日は富士山の日
「2.2.3」でふじさん。ばっちり語呂があってる2月23日は富士山の日なのだそうだ。この日を富士山の日としたのは、筑波大学附属高等学校の地理教諭・田代博が運営責任者を務めるパソコン通信「NIFTY-Serve」内のフォーラム「山の展望と地図のフォーラム(FYAMAP)」だそうで、1996年1月1日より制定された。その後に山梨県河口湖町が2001年（平成13年）12月に同様の宣言をして、静岡県も2009年に県条例で制定したそうだ。
富士山は1990年代まで、小学校などでは休火山と教えられており、私も休火山と認識していたのだが、富士山はいまだ活発な活動が観測されていること、また気象庁が休火山という区分を廃止したことも重なり、現在は活火山に区分されているという。
ということでいつ噴火してもおかしくない富士山。富士山の日であるこの日、噴火の歴史と、もし噴火しちゃったらどうなっちゃうのかを動画で学んでみることにしよう。
