“Wipe Away Your Bad Vibes”: Surreal Digital Manipulations by Alessandro Malossi

One could say photo manipulations are illusions created by heavy photo editing techniques. It is an art where ordinary photos are transformed into something alluring, surreal, and totally out of the box. Italian digital artist Alessandro Malossi does just that: his works range from making actual tattoos to mixing his surreal art style with elements of fashion.

His works have been featured by brands like Calvin Klein, Nike, Trussardi, Hogan, etc. The artist has even held some exhibitions for his art and has been interviewed by various Italian magazines.

“I started making art since I was a child, by vocation. I always thought that we should always try to find inspiration where inspiration doesn’t seem to be and we are not afraid to create something unusual,” the artist told Bored Panda.

She quickly won roles with the Sydney Theatre Company, first in its production of Top Girls and then in Kafka Dances. For her latter performance, Blanchett won the Sydney Theatre Critics Circle Newcomer Award in 1993. She also received critical acclaim for roles in productions of Hamlet, The Tempest and The Seagull.

Her U.S. film debut was in 1997’s Paradise Road and she’s gone on to star in a number of lauded projects, including The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Aviator, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and two films about Queen Elizabeth I.

In 2005, she won an Academy Award for her role as Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator. She received another Oscar in 2014, this time for Best Actress for her performance in Blue Jasmine, and earned additional acclaim for her role in 2015’s romantic drama Carol.

Here, these fascinating photographs of Blanchett were taken by Robin Sellick in 1994. Sellick is an Australian photographer who photographed some of the biggest stars through the 1990s. He is based in Adelaide, South Australia, so touring acts usually had a full press calendar in Sydney and Melbourne but would have free time when they were in Adelaide.

Illustrations of Sensual And Delicate Woman by Lina Toffini

Based in Paris, Lisa Toffini is an illustrator who is on a mission to “bring colorful magic” into the life of the viewers, through “whimsical visual stories with a strong feminine vibe, boosted by high dishes of enchanting nature”.

Her pieces are almost allegories of feminity with a touch of innocent primordial sensuality. If art has always been a part of her life, her style and creative voice are a reflection of her travels and discoveries.

“Researching people’s needs of comfort and beauty – on a global scale – made me realize that, despite our cultural differences, our soulful needs are tremendously similar, and they direct us to the surrounding nature – the nourishing, ever-changing and ever-present Mother Earth”, she explains.
