Come May 2013, Italian bike enthusiast and entrepreneur Andrea Colussi found herself thinking “now what?” So he decided to team up with designer Giulio Gianturco and engineer Giampietro Lorenzon to reinvent the bicycle; built upon classic geometry, their creation – called “G_Bicycle” — incorporates removable core elements within the traditional aluminum frame for a clean yet compact, collapsible form.

The Demi Porkeur

Photographer Camille John Mcmillan has a deep-seated cycling passion – but anyone who’s familiar with the great European Pyrenees will know that most bikes are not well-suited to the mountainous terrain that he calls home.

However, the traditional fat bike is bulky, cumbersome, and lacks the elegant simplicity that draws the photographer to his set of wheels.

To protect his precious camera equipment on and off the road, Caren Hartley of London-based Hartley cycles worked with Camille to build a “porky” bicycle “with the lines of a mid century French porteur.”

SmartHalo

smarthalo

SmartHalo turns an ordinary bicycle into a smart bicycle. It attaches to the handlebar and pairs with a smartphone to provide multiple functions while the cyclist focuses on the road.

It offers turn by turn navigation; simply input the destination on the app, and SmartHalo will give the directions using lights on the screen. The device automatically tracks time, distance, calories, elevation, maps and also displays call notifications.

It also features a smart night light that activates as soon as it gets dark and turns off when your ride is finished; and an alarm system that detects when the bike is being tampered with.

The SmartHalo’s battery lasts around three weeks on a single charge and boasts a military-grade locking system that ensures your device stays on your bike.

Tannus Tires

tannus-tires

Carrying a spare bicycle tire in case of a flat is not an option and repairing it, is annoying and time consuming. Thankfully, Tannus Tires fixes these issues by being puncture resistant tires. Instead of having an inflatable tube inside, these tires use foaming technology composed of a micro closed cell polymer resin (Aither) that makes them 100% solid inside.

It is able to withstand broken glass, nails, sharp metal debris, and thorns while making your ride smooth by minimizing rolling resistance.
