This Couple Decided To Take Their Engagement Photos At The Grocery Store They Shop At, And The End Result Might Make You Smile

Couple photoshoots are nothing new, wedding and engagement-themed photos being the turning point for most couples who want to capture the important moments in their lives.

But when it comes to planning, where do you start? There are so many cheesy couples’ photos and countless run-of-the-mill shots that it can be a challenge to snap a photo that is truly your own. But thankfully, you don’t have to rely on those predictable poses and overdone locations if you have enough imagination and a little bit of humor.

To make their engagement photoshoot unique, Joey Chiang and Melody Yu chose a place that portrayed their daily lives, making the photos you will see down below even more special and fun. The couple decided to take their engagement photos at Berkeley Bowl grocery store in the Bay area, and the result, thanks to the talented photographer Anna T Nguyen, is hilarious, to say the least.

The Illustrator Has Created a Dreamy World that She Travels Through with Her Boyfriend

According to Juliana J.J.: “In 2019, I decided that I should create a project that pushes me to draw frequently to improve my drawing skills. It was inspired by fantasy board games (and Jumanji), and it’s still an ongoing project!

In this story, my boyfriend’s character and mine have no other goal than to discover this alternate, calm and peaceful reality.

We meet other characters from time to time: some are NPCs (non-player characters), others are characters based on ideas created by my friends and family.

I hope you enjoy it!”

“A Nature Unknown”: Couple Created a Series of Illustrations Inspired By the Outdoors

Kourtney and Richard Jossy met at Portland State University where they both received bachelors in fine arts. After graduating they began collaborating on illustration projects, married, and started a nature unknown – a personal illustration series inspired by their shared interests in the outdoors, the unexplained, and introversion.

Although they don’t have a big following, their art is definitely worth checking out. I really enjoyed browsing through their Instagram page and we believe that you will enjoy it, too.

A Couple Find The Exact Locations From Movies And Films And Do Their Best To Recreate Scenes From Them

Harry Potter / Glen Etive, Scotland

“Our idea is simple: We love to watch movies and when we find a scene we like a lot, we travel to the original filming location for two reasons. 1. We love to see what the places, in reality, look like. 2. It’s a lot of fun to take a picture as a memory, which looks hopefully as close as possible to the original scene.

In 2014 we had the idea and after a while, we realized that many people have a lot of fun with the results. So we decided to share our hobbies with the whole world and started to publish them on Instagram in 2018.

We didn’t expect that some stars would see the pictures and couldn’t believe it at all when they also commented on it. That was so crazy. Here are some examples,” Judith and Robin told Bored Panda.

Game Of Thrones / Gaztelugatxe, Spain

“We just want to have a lot of fun together. And we do. One day in 2014, we were thinking about where we could go on holiday. At this point in time, we were students and we wanted to do something special but we didn’t have so much money. Suddenly we had the idea that we could visit filming locations. The problem was that we didn’t know how to prove (even to ourselves) that we’d really found the right filming location for a movie. So we had the idea to take a photo which looks like the original scene—just with us and without the actors. But to make it a better photo we thought about organizing the costumes they are wearing. We were laughing a lot because we didn’t believe that this would work. But we gave it a try. And it worked better than we thought.”

Star Trek / San Francisco, USA

“It’s difficult sometimes to capture these photographs. Sometimes it’s the weather. It often rains or is very cold, so cold that we have trouble capturing the photos. Sometimes it’s also very difficult to find a place. It can be that we are searching for days. And in some cases, the costumes are so difficult that we need a lot of time to find a good solution. At first, we always ask friends and family if they have something like the actors are wearing. Other times, we do our worn clothes. And sometimes we have to buy something.”

We Visited “Dark” In Potsdam And Both Actors Shared The Picture On Their Insta

“We try to do every movie or series we like. Sometimes we watch movies that we don’t like that much and decide to not visit the filming location. But when there’s a movie which is great, we try to find a family location and to travel to the place. Hopefully, we will do this project forever. Do you know the movie The Notebook? In the end, there’s a scene where two old people are sitting on a bench. I hope that, when Robin and I are old and gray, we can do this scene together. When we do these scenes, we have so much fun and it’s so exciting to see the results at the end. That is reason enough why we do it again and again. Often these shooting days are big adventures, which we don’t want to miss anymore.”

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty / Seyðisfjörður, Iceland

“We’ve traveled to a lot of countries. The highlight was definitely New Zealand and the USA. Apart from the great filming locations, the nature was so amazing!! We just loved it.”

Twilight / Montepulciano, Italy

“There are so many stories from our shootings. It would take a lot of time if I told you everything. For example, for Forrest Gump, we tried to take the photo but we noticed quickly that it looked very bad when I was the only person who was standing in the background. So we asked a group from Thailand if they wanted to join us. They were so excited when they realized what we were doing that they joined our photo. They were so motivated that we had to do the shooting several times. That was very very funny.”

Hunger Games / Berlin, Germany

“Or, for example, for the photo of The Lord of the Rings in New Zealand, we had to visit Mount Sunday. It’s in the middle of nowhere. It took us so much time to reach the location and after we parked our car, we had to walk a long way until we reached our destination. We had a lot of stuff with us and it wasn’t so easy to get there. Finally, we wanted to start the shooting and suddenly Robin noticed that we forgot the battery for our camera. So he had to walk all the way back so that we could start with the shooting. After that, the sun was gone and we built up our tent. We stayed there for the whole night at this amazing place. To this day, this was one of the best locations we ever visited. Just because of our hobby.”

Dark / Potsdam, Germany

“If you want to hear more about our process, here it is. So at first, we need a scene that we want to re-create. When we have it, we search for the exact place. When the movie is famous, for example, The Lord of the Rings, it’s easy to find the location. But sometimes it takes a lot of time when there aren’t so many fans who have already searched for these places. We always try to visit a few filming locations in one holiday. So we have to organize all the costumes and we have to think about the trip so that we can visit all of them. When we’ve reached the filming location it takes us between 20 minutes and one hour to get the shot. Finally, we put these two scenes together in Photoshop. But we have some rules: 1: We aren’t allowed to add something that wasn’t there in reality, or to take something away with Photoshop. It’s allowed to change the color of the photo because all the big filming companies also use filters. If we didn’t also use these filters, it wouldn’t look so good.”

Spiderman / Berlin, Germany

“We have been a couple for over 10 years and meanwhile, we are also engaged. I’m 31 and Robin is 32 and we are living near Frankfurt. I think this hobby is a big part of our relationship and all these adventures connect us in a strong way (hopefully you know what I mean.) Some stars have also commented on our photos. It doesn’t happen every time; however, when they do this, we are so excited because it’s very special to us. We have normal jobs where we earn our money. Some people think that we have rich parents or something like that who pay for our journeys. But it isn’t like this at all. It’s financed 100% on our own. I am a journalist and Robin is a mechanical engineer. Every year we have six weeks for holiday and we use this time for our hobby.”

Couple Handcuff Themselves Together to ‘Mend Their On-Off Relationship’

Gleb Garanich/Reuters

Tired of occasional break-ups, Ukrainian couple Alexandr Kudlay, 33, and Viktoria Pustovitova, 28, found an unusual solution to stay inseparable. On Valentine’s Day, they decided to handcuff their hands together for three months and began documenting their experience on social media.

Gleb Garanich/Reuters

“In terms of physical comfort, with every day passing, we are getting used to it more and more. It gets easier,” Kudlay told Reuters in their flat in the eastern city of Kharkiv.

Gleb Garanich/Reuters

He came up with the idea after Pustovitova said she wanted to break up with him. “We used to break up once or twice a week. When during another fight Vika once again said that we had to break up, I replied: ‘Then I will attach you to myself.'”

Gleb Garanich/Reuters

Pustovitova refused his idea at first, hanging up the phone on him the first time he suggested it, but eventually changed her mind. For nearly a month now, neither has had any personal space and they do everything together, from grocery shopping to cigarette breaks. “I decided it will be an interesting experience for me, that it will bring into my life new bright emotions which I did not experience before,” Pustovitova said. “I love him, so I came to a decision to do it.”

Gleb Garanich/Reuters

Now they post images of themselves on Instagram portraying an idyllic coexistence, complete with captions stressing the importance of mutual respect and understanding. They have also appeared on talk shows on Ukrainian television.

Wedding ceremonies serve several purposes, and they are often a cherished moment in a couple’s lives. A wedding ceremony is often utilized as a public display of marriage vows and the couple entering into the marital contract.

For most couples, the focus of the wedding ceremony is on their commitment and love for each other. Aside from complying with the law, there are several reasons why a wedding is essential to the bride and the groom. In addition to the usual justifications of love and commitment, people of all walks of life have differing views on why a wedding is so essential to them.

Rosalyn Ferrer and Rommel Basco are a couple from the Philippines in their 50s

It didn’t take long to organize everything and the couple had an incredible makeover and a surprise charity wedding that included a photoshoot just a day before this year’s Valentine’s day. Of course, as of now, the marriage isn’t really official, but Richard and his friends who own a wedding supply business are willing to take a step further and help the couple again by paying for their official wedding at the church after their marriage paperwork will be processed. The official wedding is supposed to happen sometime later this year.

hey have been together for over 24 years now, but unfortunately were subjected to a rough life on the streets of Pampanga province. The couple has 6 children, and for the last few years, they have been living in a small shack that was part of a wasteland

Given their life conditions, a wedding was simply something the couple could not afford or even prioritize at any point as they barely had enough money for food

The couple in their 50s usually makes money by collecting discarded plastic to sell as scrap, but it’s mainly just enough to cover the cost of food for that day

However, as of recently, the couple was noticed by a man named Richard Strandz who owned a hair salon near the place Rosalyn and Rommel lived

Upon hearing the couple’s story and finding out that the both of them couldn’t afford a wedding despite being together for over 20 years, the man found himself wanting to do something for them

Richard didn’t hesitate and reached out to a couple of his friends

He asked them if they could help him prepare a surprise wedding and a photo shoot for Rosalyn and Rommel

Upon finding out about the surprise wedding the couple was absolutely delighted

Here are some of the pictures from Rosalyn’s and Rommel’s surprise wedding photoshoot

“We Call It A Movement”: Couple Releases Photography Book To Elevate Beauty Standards For Black Kids

Photography is not only about creating an image—in the right hands, it can become a tool for inspiration and especially in this case—empowerment. A husband and wife photography team uses art to redefine the beauty standards for black children and shatter any negative stereotypes of their representation in the media. Atlanta, Georgia-based couple Kahran and Regis Bethencourt are behind CreativeSoul Photography and they’re helping kids to come out of their shells and jump-start their confidence.

The two artists obsessed with unique and visual storytelling have been in the industry for over 10 years. Recently, they started the AfroArt series to recognize and celebrate the versatile beauty of the African diaspora. Kahran and Regis’ main focus is regular everyday kids and their representation. “The purpose of this series is to illustrate the story of our royal past, celebrate the glory of the here and now, and even dare to forecast the future. With this series, we aim to empower children of color to embrace their natural curls and the skin that they’re in.”

“We definitively feel that we’ve created a movement in terms of creating an empowerment space for black kids around the world and a platform where we can display black excellence on a daily basis. We are enabling a generation of future leaders, scientists, entertainers, and more who will hopefully have a stronger sense of pride and self-love than many of us had growing up,” shared the CreativeSoul Photography duo.

Recently, they’ve released a book with over 100 breathtaking photographs and essays about the children. The images are not only there to be admired—it’s the stories of the kids from various backgrounds in their photos that add an extra dose of empowerment. They’ve had many revelations during the creative process, but what really stood out was how diverse the subjects were in terms of their stories. “There are youth activists, scientists, musicians, and more. We wanted kids to be able to read the book and see themselves represented in some way.”

The couple celebrates everything African culture as they convey it through their photos. They love photographing kids as it gives them unlimited creativity: “The sky is the limit with them and they’re usually down with all of our crazy ideas.” Kahran and Regis also hope that their book will open up conversations within black families, from domestic violence to kids not being accepted because of their skin tone.

Kahran, who is 40, and her husband Regis, 43, started out in the marketing and design world, but fell in love with photography while dating long-distance. They met on an online graphic designer forum. “We would do photo dates to explore new locations and take photos of each other. When we moved to the Atlanta area, Regis decided to go to school for photography and I learned along with him. We started our business together while Regis was still in school,” recalled Kahran.

They admitted that they’re one of those weird couples who love being together 24/7 and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Kahran and Regis think that their long-distance relationship had a lot to do with it. “We knew that we ultimately wanted to work together, but weren’t sure what it would be. Working together is not always easy, but we always stay professional with our clients, so it’s hard to stay mad at each other during a shoot.”

While they both work hard, Regis is usually the one who has a shut-off button and needs some time away from the photo world, and Kahran, on the other hand, dreams about ideas in her sleep.
