A Photo Shoot That Puts Manchester United’s New Home Shirt At The Heart Of The Look

he landscape of football is one of incredible swell. A game that fuels a momentous culture, it captures music, art, design and so much more. In a new photography series, we headed to Manchester, a global capital for creativity, to bring football and fashion together in a shoot that puts United’s new home shirt at the heart of the look.

Inspired by the 70s, 80s and early 90s – three decades that are synonymous with ever influential fashion trends – Manchester United and adidas had a combined relationship of strength. Shift on a generation and that link up is back together.

While sports performance and the world of lifestyle fashion have remained separate, there’s no denying that the football shirt look is back on the rise. In a time where retro shirts are sold on eBay for a small fortune, there’s quite simply nothing stopping retro wearers adopting contemporary classics.

With adidas bringing the three stripes back to Old Trafford, there are changes in the season – one for the appreciator of the craftsmanship and engineering behind elite equipment and in Manchester, an epicentre of fashion and creativity, it’s the ideal place to start this exploration of football cool.

While many shoot for change and have a thirst for new, there’s no need to forget the subculture who love football kits for what they are and stand for. A kit that has gone down to much avail, it’s a sweet sound from Stretford as far as we can see.

Hangover Cup

Introducing our new Kickstarter project which went live a couple of days ago – it’s our fourth one and we’re hoping to make it 4/4 for success rates!

The Hangover Cup is a 1 litre sized sippy cup for adults, for the mornings after the nights before, when you really have to drink, but really have to be horizontal. A spill-proof, two-handled, 1 litre sippy cup for those times you absolutely have to remain horizontal.

Hangovers are caused by alcohol. Alcohol is a diuretic and makes you pee, which makes you dehydrated. Usually you fall asleep in this state and during the night your liver has to process heaps of toxins, while the rest of your body lacks the fluids vital to function comfortably. In the morning you have a headache because your brain has temporarily SHRUNK due to dehydration, and is pulling on the INSIDE OF YOUR SKULL! (I had to research this for the write up and, believe me, it upset me just as much to read). The solution? Hundred Million’s Hangover Cup!

Using the technology perfected over centuries by tiny, needy toddlers, we’ve designed an adult-sized sippy cup for the times you’re just too fragile to be vain about these things. The benefits of our Hangover Cup include:

– Leak-proof silicone valve
– Two easy to hold handles
– Huge 1 litre capacity
– Heat proof up to 120 celsius; perfect for hot/cold drinks
– BPA free, dishwasher safe Polypropylene material

Whether you fill it with coffee, or energy drink, or fruit juice, or ice-cold water, or fresh detoxing smoothie or tequila – you can now arrive home from the bar safe in the knowledge you’ve everything you need for the morning after chilling in the fridge or waiting on the table. Grab it before you go to sleep, and everything will be okay.

Fantastic Pencil Sculptures By Jasenko Đorđević

Born in Tulza, Bosnia, Jasenko Đorđević uses an X-acto knife and tiny chisel to carve detailed pencil-tip sculptures. The result resembles something made from stone or charred wood. Đorđević was first inspired to carve pencils after seeing the work of Dalton Ghetti.

The Demi Porkeur

Photographer Camille John Mcmillan has a deep-seated cycling passion – but anyone who’s familiar with the great European Pyrenees will know that most bikes are not well-suited to the mountainous terrain that he calls home.

However, the traditional fat bike is bulky, cumbersome, and lacks the elegant simplicity that draws the photographer to his set of wheels.

To protect his precious camera equipment on and off the road, Caren Hartley of London-based Hartley cycles worked with Camille to build a “porky” bicycle “with the lines of a mid century French porteur.”

Artist Beth Cavener Creates Terrible Animal Sculptures You’ll Never Forget

The sculptures of Beth Cavener focus on human psychology, stripped of context and rationalisation, and articulated through animal and human forms. Cavener wants to pry at those uncomfortable, awkward edges between animal and human.

Entangled in their own internal and external struggles, the figures express frustration for the human tendency towards cruelty and lack of understanding.

Majestic ‘Arachnophobia’ Table Clock By MB&F

Inspired by a giant spider sculpture titled ‘Maman’ designed by Louise Bourgeois (1911 – 2010) that MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser had seen in both Geneva and Doha. Arachnophobia is the outcome of the collaboration of MB&F with L’Epée 1839 – Switzerland’s only specialised high-end clock manufacturer.

Büsser created the idea with L’Epée, selecting a high-end L’Epée clock movement and re-imagining it as the mechanical head and torso of a spider.
