The Typefaces

The Typefaces are simply faces in type. Born in a book, they can now be found climbing walls, walking the malls, and spending way too much time on social media.

HemingwayDesign Plays With Pattern And Shape

Marmolaid – Graphic colour block pattern and bespoke graphic layouts from the HemingwayDesign studio using Forbo’s eco-friendly and natural Marmoleum sheet collection – available on request.

The HemingwayDesign and Forbo Flooring Systems collaboration plays with pattern and shape by placing an emphasis on the floor as a surface for graphic art and geometric design.

Fresh Cut Graph – ‘Op Art’ for the floor – A subtle yet striking cut up grid graphic repeat.

The collection sees Forbo embrace new ideas influenced by HemingwayDesign’s work across a number of design disciplines and sectors. Existing Forbo Flooring Systems product is re-imagined to create strong graphic pattern and colours in Marmoleum, Tessera carpet tiles and geometrically stimulating flooring with flocked Flotex and digitally printed vinyl.

The Slide – Geometric block pattern using cool and warm greys and monochromatic shades from Forbo’s eco-friendly and natural Marmoleum Modular collection.

“The inspiration the collection comes from the places and spaces we like to live and work in. Having worked with Forbo on a couple of projects, we had been introduced to a number of their product lines where we saw potential to reinvent them. Since we work across a number of disciplines and sectors, we have been able to dip into our current graphic design portfolio and a colour palette to create what we believe is some very fresh flooring.” – Wayne Hemingway

Hemingbone – A take on a traditional herringbone parquet floor. A large scale pop art meets hand illustrated graphic repeat.
