“Pre-collapsed”: The Superb Digital Art Nouveau by Andy Rolfes

Andy Rolfes is an artist, photographer and associate director based in Brooklyn, New York. Obsessed with fashion and figure, his personal work often revolves around personhood, crowds, and romanticized fantasy intermingled with everyday life.

He is currently taking care of his agency, @team.rolfes, but can be found online or wandering around Brooklyn.

“Using my own voyeuristic perspective, my practice explores how much I project my own ideas of identity and escapism onto both the people I know and strangers I spy on among the crowd. Subverting the comforts of reality by wrangling a sense of verisimilitude out of stylized scenes, I seek to disjoint and confuse with rich amalgams of traditional and new mediums,” he writes.

“Starting with my personal photography archives, including moments with friends and events where I perform as a fly on a wall, I simulate the strange re-contextualization, aesthetic distortion and abstraction that occur in translating another person’s sense of identity within contemporary society. Meanwhile, I look to Surrealism, theoretical physics, mass culture and other methods of stealing and stylizing reality for my own means.”

“My final products are results of combining virtual abstractions and recognizable physical motifs like building blocks, displaying the fantastic and surreal scenes formed by the collision of one identity into another.”

PORTAL: An Interactive Bridge to Unity Connects Two Countries

On the 26th of May Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius and Lublin in Poland became the first two cities to connect through PORTAL. This interactive installation, is a new wave community accelerator, aiming to bring people of different cultures together and encouraging them to rethink the feeling of unity.

More: PORTAL h/t: vilniustech

For the first time, different countries, cities and its’ people have such a way to connect in real-time. PORTAL – the installation broadcasting Lublin to Vilnius and vice versa – is an invitation to get to know yourself better, to experience other city, and to embrace the world surrounding you. PORTAL brings a wish for unity, especially in times like these when we are separated by various challenges and troubles disturbing our world recently.

As the authors and the initiators of the project, Vilnius-based Benediktas Gylys Foundation say, it’s time to transcend the sense of separation and to become the pioneers of a united planet.

“Humanity is facing a lot of problems, be it social polarization, climate change, or economic issues. Though if we look closely, it’s not a lack of brilliant scientists, activists or leaders, knowledge or technology that cause the fragmentation of humanity. It’s tribalism, lack of empathy, and a secluded perception of the world, which is often limited to our national borders.”

“That’s why we’ve decided to bring the crazy idea of PORTAL to life – it is a bridge to unity, an invitation to rise above prejudices, above the disagreements that belong to the past, it’s an invitation to rise above the illusion of us and them”, says Benediktas Gylys, the president of Benediktas Gylys Foundation.

It took 5 years for the team of the project to finally arrive at the first destination of PORTAL and they are extremely thankful to Lublin for bravery of becoming the first partner city and also the pioneer of unity.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), the technical heart of the project, chose the circle, a well-known and recognized sci-fi symbol for this interactive ‘bridge‘. Resembling the wheel of time, PORTAL allows a person to ‘travel‘ and experience reality on the other side of the screen. The form, minimal design, and aesthetics of the installation shape the image of a future city.

“The PORTAL from the very beginning was an impressive and exciting project. From the initial idea to the creation of an interactive bridge connecting cities, it was a complex task that needed different knowledge and technologies. From design, 3D modeling to digital content development and logistic challenges – a project like this requires a broad and multifunctional team. When diverse people succeed in working together and reach the synchrony – then such meaningful projects are born. And this is just an another example of what the united people can achieve”, says Adas Meskenas, the director of VILNIUS TECH Creativity and innovation centre ”LinkMenų fabrikas”.

The project is not a simple one-timer, the organizers plan to connect the world by dozens of PORTALS in the future. The aim is to involve communities and encourage a public movement that would create social experiments, unexpected reactions, and most important – the unity of different cities and its‘ people in the long run.

Russian Artist Recreates Popular Female Characters from Video Games in Sensual 3D

Nico Goldstein from Devil May Cry 5

According to Alexander Sherman: “My name is Alexander and for several years I have been showing people that 3d video game erotic can be both beautiful and sensual.

Here you will not see abnormally huge body parts or some other perversions. As well as characters from Overwatch or Fortnite for example. Many others great artists are drawing them, but I specialize in other things.

Why me? From childhood, I watched in admiration at paintings, posters and stickers with the works of the stunning artists like Luis Royo, Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell. It was they who made me understand that erotic can be beautiful, sensual and enchanting.

I try to continue their work and create the most authentic erotic art with video games (and not only) characters. It takes a lot of time to create unique bodies, distinctive features and decorations that are suitable for the characters, but the final result is worth it.”

World’s Tallest Supermodel and Olympian Breaks Internet with Lady Dimitrescu Resident Evil Cosplay

This is Ekaterina Lisina, a bronze medal-winning Olympian with the Russian basketball team and now model, with what is surely the most 1:1 cosplay possible of Resident Evil’s Lady Dimitrescu.

More: Instagram h/t: kotaku

While the character of Lady Dimitrescu is 9’6″, and Lisina “only” 6’9″, it’s important to put those numbers in context, especially since this shoot was done solo. The artist’s perfect recreation is so accurate, it’s almost as if the terrifying character has walked right out of the screen and into real life.

“The Shadows”: Superb Video Game and Film Posters by Felix Tindall

Felix Tindall‘s shadow playfulness allows him to create illustrations that will fall to the ground. Playing mainly with silhouettes, and taking his inspiration from video games and movies, this artist manages to create wonderful posters. They represent the essence of these works, often with their main characters, but also striking details, reminding me what makes us love these works.

Marcelo Ventura Reimagines The Concept of Pop Culture Characters in Dark-Style Illustrations

Many self-taught artists have no formal education but have extraordinary skills, talents, creative ideas, and artworks. One of them is like this artist, starting from a hobby and happy drawing, Marcelo Ventura, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

With a dark and unique style, he takes fun to revisit a lot of universe from the 80s and 90s through the cinema, the TV or video-games, and most of all, he makes them meet in incredible ways. And that’s clearly what I love about him over here: his dark, sinister, and comic-book style that he puts in all his creations.

UNE NUIT À L'OPÉRA by Sergei Loznitsa

Choeurs de l'Opéra national de Paris - La Traviata de Giuseppe Verdi

Beautiful…

Beautiful name.

Beautiful name、

Georgia Senator David Perdue Under Fire For Mocking Kamala Harris’ Name | Ayman Mohyeldin | MSNBC
