Vimeo Staff Pick: ” WANDER IN TURKEY ” is one of my travel series video. I really like having no plans when i’m in unfamiliar place. I just wanders which makes me face unplanned situations and people. Sometimes I can melt into their daily life and have a deep relationship. I was fascinated by turkish culture and natural scenery. Also, I could feel that there is a various cultural sensibility from asia and europe. I mostly captured videos in Istanbul and Cappadocia. Hope you enjoy my video. Vimeo Staff Pick: My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people. Dubai may be home to the world’s most outrageous skyline but Dubai’s desert dunes and historical creek are where you’ll find its soul. A special thank you to Dubai Film for making this project possible and for providing the extraordinary access which enabled me to realise this story. If you want to see more… An extended version of the airport baggage scene, from plane arrival to luggage cart in 4K here: http://ift.tt/1AeicYA And also the creek scene in full, the original of this is 13500px (13.5K) across however in 4k here: http://ift.tt/1Av73WC Sound Design: Slava Pogorelsky Email: kultenyeuk@walla.com Facebook: http://ift.tt/1n06nen Rob Whitworth Website: http://ift.tt/RKDvcc Facebook: http://ift.tt/13F6Pr8 Instagram: http://ift.tt/1HhicdZ

Vimeo Staff Pick: Process is fascinating. There is an art to the way that things are made. Oftentimes we find ourselves so enraptured by a work of art that a form of mysticism envelops the creator. In our society this has become something worth idolizing, something artists feel the need to aspire to. Well, we’re not interested in myth. We’re interested in people. In actual people who have incredible talents and the hard work they put in to achieve their results. Often this secretive artistic path is put on a pedestal. We would like to offer something different to admire: the realistic struggle through which people can create great things. Expression is difficult. It is of our belief that true greatness comes from vulnerability. The honesty that lies within the creative process provides us with empowering perspectives. To know the challenges faced by an artist and the fortitude needed to overcome them is to celebrate the human spirit. Cern is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. His ideas are expressed in many artistic forms, including murals, which can be found in major cities all over the world. www.cernesto.com Twitter: @cernymi Instagram: @cernesto Production Company: Navigate (www.wenavigate.com) Director/Editor: Jared Levy Director of Photography: Justin Hamilton Executive Producers: Jared Levy & Justin Hamilton Additional Cinematography: Jared Levy Sound Mix: Cary Daniels Color Grade: Nice Shoes (www.niceshoes.com) Colorist: Phil Choe Production Assistance: Julian Walter & James Daniel BTS Photos: Julian Walter (www.julianwalter.com) Music Dwell (Snowfall Remix) -Tony Anderson Visitors on the Bow Wave - The Echelon Effect Processed Spirits - Lymbyc Systym Tekapo - Salomon Ligthelm All music provided by The Music Bed

Vimeo Staff Pick: Shokunin (Sho-koo-neen) is a Japanese word used to describe an individual that aspires to become a master in their particular craft or art form. Ryan Neil falls firmly into this description, as he has been practicing the art of Bonsai for nearly two decades. In this short film, we get a glimpse at the broader thinking behind a professional American Bonsai practitioner, as well as some of the inherent challenges and aspirations that come along with the pursuit for bonsai mastery in America.
